This website is predominantly for South Asians on improving their diet and lifestyle. It is a package of many things ranging from guidance on weight loss, healthy eating, increasing motivation, clearing myths, information on varied health conditions, diet and health related topics, healthy eating recipes and so on.

Will I get a diet plan?

Yes, you will get a diet plan if you book yourself for 4 consultations. It will give Fareeha Jay the opportunity  to do in-depth nutritional assessment and provide you with the support you need.

How is portion control better than any other weight loss technique?

Fareeha Jay talks about healthy eating portion control .All weight loss techniques will make you lose weight, but we always need to think of sustainability and how long we can do it for. If you can’t follow a certain weight loss method for long; once you stop the weight will come back again. In portion control healthy eating, you will be eating everything which will never give you the feeling of being deprived. You will realise that it’s not a diet but a lifestyle.

In portion control healthy eating you eat from all food groups making sure that you are eating a well-balanced diet. You get all your nutrients from carbohydrates, fruit and vegetables, proteins, dairy and fats. In most of the diets one or the other food group is missing which may cause deficiencies in future.

Do I need to exercise?

Yes. For optimum results at least 30 minutes 5 days a week. Any kind of exercise is recommended from cardio to strength training depending on your goal and fitness levels.

Will I get advice on exercise on this website?

Fareeha Jay is a dietitian, though would always ask you to include exercise but will not provide specific information as this is not her field.

Does portion control work for everyone?

Portion control is a guidance to eating and a way of life. It will also help you lose weight, but one thing should be kept in mind that there are many other factors which may affect weight loss such as health condition, individual needs and goals, biochemical data, socio economic status, past life experience, psychological concerns, family history, socio economic status etc. If you are concerned and want a greater dept on all the factors mentioned, then it will be ideal for you to go for a dietetic consultation with a dietitian.
